Should we fear Corona virus? Many people no longer fear Corona virus although it has taken many lives. Some people think that it is not dangerous if we have strong immunity. Some people bluntly say “I’m not scared of Corona virus”. This is not for those who fear Corona virus. This is for the brave hearts. The question to be asked to the brave hearts is ‘Why are you not scared of Corona virus?’
Today, some people trust in their good health while some people simply consider the virus as nothing to be fearful of. As a Christian, whether it is dangerous or not, we are supposed to trust the Lord. God wants us to trust in Him and not be fearful. But today, as a Christian, if we examine ourselves, some of us are not scared of Corona virus not necessarily because we trust God. That is where the problem lies. It is God’s will for us to trust the Lord in small and great things (Psalm 62:8). Otherwise, we will never be victorious spiritually, mentally, emotionally and so on.
In the same vein, if we look at our enemy (Satan), we know that he is already defeated by Jesus on the Cross. The undeniable fact is that we have spiritual warfare against Satan every now and then. Many Christians are ignorant about this and they are no match for Satan. Today, many are no longer afraid of Satan (especially what he is doing to us) not necessarily because they trust in the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. They don’t find it important to depend on God in order to fight him. Sadly, they don’t really mind whether they lose this battle or not. However, there are also some Christians who are mindful of the spiritual battles. Unknowingly, they often think that they can endure trials and fight temptation with their own strength. This happens because we don’t think that it is necessary to trust God in the little temptations of the devil that we face every day. As a result, we are always the loser while we are supposed to be the winner.
Let us not forget that we need Jesus in everything - from the smallest to the biggest things. This is not a new thing for many of us, but let it be renewed in our hearts today. Jesus should be the reason why we are at peace when the situation suggests fear. He should be the reason that we laugh when the situation suggests cry. He should be the reason that we love anyway when the situation suggests hatred. As a Christian, Jesus should be our all in all, anywhere, anytime and in every situation.
