Every Lives Matter

With George Floyd's death, there was an eruption of protests all over America, the UK, New Zealand, and the world. It haywire into riots, looting, indiscriminate fighting thats unimaginable. So wretched to see so much hate, so much anger, so much violence, so much crime that makes the pandemic trifling.

Not just in America, we see racism at its worst in India too. Northeast has its shares of all the “isms” - communalism, tribalism, denominationalism, religious’ ism’ embedded in the minds, coated by the cultures and subconsciously upheld in its value system. No amount of education, force, awareness, protests, or even justice and religious institutions can uproot this repugnance lifestyle unless otherwise supernaturally!

The famous John Newton (1725-1807) was a slave trader turned slave savior after he encountered Jesus Christ. His spiritual eyes were opened and worldview transformed. He began to value the people he once considered frivolous and fight for their rights.

Paul, a hubris Jews, dedicated his whole life to the Gentiles (non-Jews), only because of the gospel. His message contains freedom both of the spirit and flesh, equality for all races, and love for the enemies. It was the gospel that liberated mankind, brought hope to the oppressed, justice to the poor and transformed the hearts and the mind en masse.

Yes, black lives matter! So does brown lives, white lives, babies' lives, everybody's lives. Not because of caste, color or creed but because of the imago Dei (made in God's image). Everyone matters to God! But only, when the heart is transformed, the mind renewed, the life redeemed can a man truly valued differences, love his neighbor, tear down hostility, uproot racism and pray for his enemies.
